Shadow of the Rockies Trail

The Shadow of the Rockies Trail

The Shadow of the Rockies Trail

The Shadow of the Rockies Trail is a Mexico-to-Wyoming ride, that starts just east of El Paso, Texas (very close to the Mexico border). This dual-sport ride is north-bound and follows in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. The Shadow of the Rockies Trail has proven to be another true adventure on the dual-sport motorcycle.

The Shadow of the Rockies trail and the Trans-Am Trail will cross in southern Colorado, just southeast of Trinidad.

The entire trip can be made without venturing off publicly available roads. This eliminates a potential stress for those using my maps and does not jeopardize my project. Trust me, you won’t miss the private sections. It’s still one great trip!

TransAmTrail.com is the official website of the Trans-America Trail, and the exclusive source for Maps and Roll Charts to navigate the the Trans-Am Trail, the Shadow of the Rockies Trail, and the Mississippi Hill Country trail:

The Shadow of the Rockies trail is a north-bound ride traversing much of the Rocky Mountains. The Trail starts near the Mexico border and continues to the Wyoming border. Some 1,356-miles of mostly off-pavement riding.

The Shadow of the Rockies trail starts just north of the Mexico border (near El Paso, Texas) and continues to the southern Wyoming border (trail does not continue into Wyoming).

Maps and Roll Charts are used together for navigation and therefore are sold together. Purchase the full-set for the entire 1,356-mile Shadow of the Rockies trail, or purchase the navigation for only the states you plan to ride (roll chart holder sold separately). May I say here, that the Shadow of the Rockies trail is NOT for everyone. It takes a rider with a “quest for adventure” and a special “love” for dual-sport motorcycles — the average days ride is about (200) miles from motel-to-motel.

Note: Navigation direction for the Shadow of the Rockies trail is South to North only
