The Trans-America Trail (AKA: the “TAT”) is a west bound dual-sport motorcycle ride across America.
The Trail starts in Southeastern Tennessee, and ends at the Pacific Ocean in southwestern Oregon – nearly 5,000 miles of mostly off-pavement riding.
Ever dreamed of traveling cross-country on your motorcycle, seeing sights you’d never see from a car, and meeting great people along the way? Sam Correro had that dream and made it a reality by creating the Trans-America Trail. Now any dual-sport motorcyclist can make this amazing adventure, thanks to Sam’s meticulous mapping of the nearly 5,000-mile route across America.

This motorcycle adventure across America on the Trans-America Trail is NOT a single-track tight woods ride. It is a route using dirt roads, gravel roads, jeep roads, forest roads and farm roads. Dropping down into dried-up creek beds. Riding atop abandoned railroad grades. There are sections of mud, sand, snow and rocks… it’s all of the above, but it’s for the Dual-Sport Rider.
The purpose of this web site is to make people aware of a helpful resource for planning this off-road cross-country trip on the “Trans-America Trail”. Here you will find all you will need to navigate your journey cross-country, including detailed roll charts and supporting maps. All of the sections now have GPS way-points that have been added to the new and improved roll charts. Also there is a map of the intersection, on the new and improved roll charts.
Maps and Roll Charts are used together for navigation and therefore are sold as a sets Purchase the full-set for the entire 5,000-mile Trans-Am Trail, or purchase only for the states you plan to ride (roll chart holder sold separately). May I say here, that the Trans-Am Trail is NOT for everyone. It takes a rider with a “quest for adventure” and a special “love” for a motorcycle — the average days ride is about (200) miles from motel-to-motel.

The Dual-Sport motorcycle rider now has two more choices of rides:
The Shadow of the Rockies Trail is a Mexico to Colorado/Wyoming state line ride, that starts just east of El Paso, Texas (very close to the Mexico border). This ride is north-bound and follows in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. The Shadow of the Rockies Trail has proven to be another true adventure on the dual-motorcycle. The Shadow of the Rockies trail and the Trans-Am Trail will cross in southern Colorado, just southeast of Trinidad (click here to order).
