Description

The POS is a connector from Emmett, ID to Port Orford/ Pacific Ocean located 800 miles away.

At Emmett, the POS and the TAT connect. At this point, the TAT turns East and goes to Wyoming and the POS starts West and goes to Port Orford, OR. At this point, the rider can also put together a loop.

Riding the POS, there will be sections where you will be very remote, so watch your fuel and water. This will not be a concern if your are camping.

You may want to take some time to enjoy Whitman National Forest, Malheur National Forest, Strawberry Mt. Wilderness, Ochoco National Forest, Deschutes N.F., Newberry Crater, Pauline Lake, East Lake, Umpqua N.F., and Siskiyou N.F.

Oregon is beautiful and green. Most of the POS is non-pavement but has an acceptable amount of back road pavement. Watch your fuel level and locate your overnight if you need a motel.

Enjoy the adventure and ride with care and respect.
